Films Made with NW Documentary
Documentary film showcases the enormously diverse ways in which people experience the world and tell stories. At NW Documentary we believe that everyone’s stories have value, and we’re proud and grateful to be able to help people share their experiences. Below, you can check out films made in our D.I.Y. Workshops, Documentary Explorers Camp, & our Recording Resilience program. And there are even more stories available on our Vimeo page.
NW Documentary’s flagship course is DIY Documentary: a 10-week journey to create a short film from start to finish. Find out more here.
Kids, cameras, science, and fun! We learn about nature by going out in nature. From the high deserts of Oregon to the Redwood Forests, we explore tidepools and abandoned homesteads, we canoe estuaries, and we hunt for thunder eggs. Along the way, we learn from the people who live and work in these remote regions, such as forest fire fighters, naturalists, and Native Americans.
In Recording Resilience, we work with teenagers who have recently suffered the tragic loss of a loved one. In partnership with the Dougy Center, we create a supportive, healing opportunity for the participants to create their own personal film under the direct guidance of professional filmmakers.
