DIY Audio Documentary


The sister-class to DIY Documentary, this 10 week class walks you through the process of telling a compelling nonfiction audio story.  Whether it’s for a podcast, Public Radio, or you just want to up your audio game for filmmaking, you’ll develop the technical skills to create beautiful, broadcast quality work.  There will be a strong emphasis on interviewing technique and storytelling, as well as plot, character development, pacing, and narration. Prior non-linear editing experience a plus, but not required.

Ryan White is a documentarian working in audio, video and photography.  He has produced audio pieces for Public Radio as well as audio and video oral histories for non-profit clients.  He is the founder and Executive Director of Narrative Alchemy a storytelling non-profit.  He has a Master’s in Oral History from Columbia University.
