NW Doc Film Series: Hot Coffee at the Hollywood Theatre

Movie poster for Hot CoffeeNext up for our film series @ the Hollywood Theatre is Hot Coffee, which examines the case of Liebeck v. McDonald’s Restaurants, known as the “hot coffee lawsuit,” in which a woman sued the fast-food giant after she spilled her coffee and burned herself. Looking past the scathing negative publicity of the trial, the film examines the insidious reasons why McDonald’s invested heaps of money to sway public opinion against the plaintiff.
